Hey guys. Thank you for visiting my dance photography page. I’m Kavan, and I have been a dance photographer for over seven years now. I’m not sure where the passion for dance began, but I know it has become a big part of my life. I’m at my best when I’m running around with a dancer looking for the best backdrops, and amazing scenery to make epic images. I’m dedicated to getting the best out of my dancers, and we have a ton of fun doing it. I have photographed dancers in California, Texas, Washington, and Mexico City, and I’m not done yet. I cannot wait to have an amazing dance experience with you too.
Why I Do This
I do this because I’m passionate about dance. I do this because I became frustrated and disappointed with the images some dance studios were sending home with their dancers. I believe dancers and their families deserve much better than these canned, poorly lit images that have not changed in the last 20 years. There is no value in that. I felt it was unfair that dancers spent years of time and effort, training for, and learning their craft, giving up all those evenings and weekends, and not have beautiful images to show for it. I believe it’s unfair that the dancers’ families spend time, money, and a lot of gas driving their dancers to practices and competitions, only for them to take home the same types of images year after year.
I want to break that trend. I believe our dancers and their families deserve dance images that they will love and can be proud of for a very long time. No more rigidly posed images with forced smiles. Let’s create a personalized experience that will truly represent your amazing dancer.

I put my heart and soul into every shoot, every print, and every final image. I wouldn’t do it any other way. I would love for you to shoot with me because I want to give you my best.
